How do composers and directors subtly steer our emotions? Which musical choices make a scene unforgettable, moving, or breathtakingly suspenseful? In this concert, Maestro Jules not only demonstrates how music functions in film, but above all lets us experience what that music does to us. Before the intermission, you will hear well-known classical works that gained new meaning through their role on the silver screen, accompanied by commentary and film clips that instantly evoke memories. After the break, original scores will be performed from, among others, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jaws, and The Lord of the Rings. Soprano Laetitia Gerards brings color to the vocal moments with her clear, radiant voice, and the winner of the Prinses Christina Concours presents themselves to a wide audience as soloist. An evening full of recognition, insight, and pure listening pleasure!
