The TROMP International Percussion Competition 2026 reaches its thrilling conclusion during an intense and unforgettable final concert in Eindhoven. After a week filled with bold performances, artistic experimentation, and inspiring encounters between some of the world’s most promising percussion talents, the three finalists step onto the stage one final time to compete for the prestigious TROMP title.
As the heart of the internationally renowned TROMP Festival, the competition has been a leading platform for percussion innovation since 1971. In its renewed 2026 format, TROMP challenges performers not only on technical mastery, but also on artistic identity, originality, and creative vision. Throughout multiple competition rounds, ten selected percussionists from around the globe present highly personal programs that push the boundaries of contemporary percussion performance.
The grand finale transforms Muziekgebouw Eindhoven into a vibrant meeting place for artists, jury members, international presenters, press, and percussion enthusiasts. The finalists present specially developed 35-minute performances featuring newly commissioned works, collaborative creations with composers and ensemble musicians, and immersive visual scenography. This final round is not simply a competition concert, but a celebration of the future of percussion as a multidisciplinary and deeply personal art form.
