The Philips Symphony Orchestra presents their 100th concert at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven! This special performance features a unique collaboration with Symphonic Cinema by Dutch filmmaker Lucas van Woerkum. The program includes Daphnis et Chloé, the impressionistic ballet music by Maurice Ravel, performed by the orchestra and the Philips Philharmonic Choir. The film shown on the big screen during the concert tells the story of Daphnis and Chloé in a modern, urban setting. The visuals are fully synchronized with the music, allowing the live performance and film to blend seamlessly. Chloé is confronted with her own superficiality, but through Daphnis’ devotion, she comes to recognize her longing for true love. With nearly 150 musicians and singers on stage and an immersive film projection, this anniversary concert is a powerful fusion of music and film.
Due to a second matinee performance, you can enjoy a drink in the foyer until 4:30 PM.
