With two very different works, the Eindhovense Oratorium Vereniging, under the direction of Geert Broeksteeg, conveys various human emotions on stage. Johannes Brahms expresses the sorrow after the loss of loved ones, but also brings out hope and especially comfort. Herman Finkers wrote the Sint Jorismis for his wedding. This was later orchestrated and is described as melodic and accessible. The work is popular with choirs and audiences alike, also because of the humor that can be heard throughout the music. The Eindhovense Oratorium Vereniging is accompanied by the Holland Symphony Orchestra.
Program
Johannes Brahms – Ein deutsches Requiem
Herman Finkers – Sint Jorismis
For the Love of Music
Community clubs are an important social and cultural driving force in our society. There’s little else that connects people quite like they do. Clubs are without a doubt one of the most effective ways to combat division in society. Both clubs and enthusiasts or independent practitioners of amateur art can come to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. With the project For the Love of Music, we’re happy to make our halls available to anyone who loves music: creators, artists, and musicians from Eindhoven and the surrounding region.
