Fee Suzanne de Ruiter is a Dutch mezzo-soprano with a warm, natural voice and a strikingly original stage presence. She studied at the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich, where she earned her Master’s degree in Opera in 2023, and previously graduated with honors from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Fee has won awards including the Classic Young Master Award and the Audience Award, and has been praised in international reviews for her clear, natural singing and impressive expressiveness. In her program, Fee explores the concept of melancholia: a longing for something you have never experienced. With a repertoire including works by Bach and Berio, she and pianist Florian Verweij give meaning to this elusive feeling in a recital that demonstrates how melancholy is not only dark but also a source of creativity.
After the concert
A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Lunchtime concerts
Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
