As an exclusive Sony Classical International Artist, Lavinia Meijer performs globally, from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Berliner Philharmonie, making her one of the most renowned harpists in the world. Born in South Korea and adopted at the age of 2, she was raised in the Netherlands. Her passion lies in expanding the repertoire for her instrument and exploring its possibilities. She is especially known for her interpretations of works by the acclaimed American minimal composer Philip Glass, who granted her permission in a personal meeting in 2011 to arrange his five-part work Metamorphosis for harp. Since then, she has transcribed other Glass works, including Opening Piece, several movements from The Hours, and the main theme from Glass’s most famous work, Koyaanisqatsi. Lavinia Meijer continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her groundbreaking Glass arrangements.
