The recipe for a great retro sound? A pinch of old school funk, a dash of psychedelic rock mixed with surf-like guitars: that’s Cocobolo! This Dutch trio, consisting of guitarist Erik Bandt (YĪN YĪN), drummer Ties Voskamp, and bass guitarist Hilde Luytjes (CHARLOT), writes songs inspired by visuals. Each song tells a story, like a film. Think of a chase, an evening walk in the woods, or a rain dance. With these kinds of visual backgrounds, all of Cocobolo’s songs achieve the same effect: they ignite your imagination. In September 2023, they released their first EP, Songs For Bad Dancers, and on the day of this concert, they will release their debut album. You’ll hear the album’s music live for the first time at Kaleidoscope!
Schedule
The doors of M open at 9:00 PM, where you can enjoy a drink while DJ Kaliman spins his favorite vinyl records. Cocobolo’s concert starts at 10:00 PM and will last until around 11:00 PM. After Cocobolo, DJ Kaliman will keep the evening going for another hour to wrap up the night!
