Film scores in Concert

The most powerful moments in film stay with you because of the music. That tension just before the shark strikes, that goosebumps when the hero takes his final step. During ‘Film scores in Concert’ you hear and feel those emotions again, thanks to the live performance of legendary film music by the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, conducted by Sander Teepen. No screen, no distractions: just the pure energy of a large orchestra of 65-70 musicians bringing the most famous film scores to life in the acoustics of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. This is not a nostalgic evening at the cinema, but an overwhelming live spectacle that shows why film cannot do without music.

Expect an evening filled with the thrilling sounds of John Williams’ ‘Jaws’ (suite), Howard Shore’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ and Lalo Schifrin’s ‘Mission Impossible’. But the romance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and the charm of John Barry’s ‘Out of Africa’ will also come to life this evening. As the icing on the cake, you will hear the heroic and adventurous themes from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Gladiator’ by Hans Zimmer and an iconic ‘James Bond’ medley. An unmissable concert for every film and music lover.
