The Thalia String Trio is a young and ambitious chamber music ensemble consisting of violinist Alix Rodenburg, violist Kamil Boels and cellist Thijmen Tempelaars. Alix and Thijmen first met at the Sweelinck Academy of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and soon decided to form an ensemble together. With Kamil joining the group, the trio evolved into its current line-up, performing both classical repertoire and lesser-known works. The ensemble has won prizes at competitions including the Princess Christina Competition, the Nico Vis Chamber Music Competition and the Gelre Chamber Music Competition. Thijmen performs on a cello built by Saskia Schouten, while Alix plays a Gagliano violin generously loaned to her by the Elise Mathilda Fund.

Lunchtime concerts

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
