The program “Franz Liszt: Harmony of Light” features emotional, psychological, and spiritual highlights from Liszt’s oeuvre. The piano is the symbolic stage of the soul, connecting art and literature with music. Between lyrical exaltation, wisdom in sound, and brilliant climaxes, Liszt’s symphonic poems symbolize the human being as an individual, with themes of love, hope, and acceptance. The music carries us through this journey and leads us via the divine, from darkness to light, from sorrow to upliftment. Kaptein’s interpretations of Liszt’s work are known for her flawless technique and deep empathy, which makes her performance a profound and spiritual experience. Her debut album Lebenswanderung was praised for this exceptional quality.

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
