Singaporean pianist Elizabeth Goh is known for her adventurous musical approach. She plays both the classical concert grand piano and the toy piano, using her remarkable imagination to open up new worlds of sound. Elizabeth is currently in her second year of her master’s program at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she is mentored by David Kuyken, Frank van de Laar, and Ralph van Raat. Among other achievements, she won second prize at the Schimmel International Piano Competition in Germany and was selected as a finalist for Dutch Classical Talent 2026/2027. In this lunchtime concert, the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur. Compositions by Mattias Spee and Appollon Kalamenios, storytelling, and a mime artist come together in a recital that invites reflection on the role of imagination in a turbulent world.

After the concert

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Program

Music by Escher, Gubaidulina, Crumb, and others, as well as new works by Mattias Spee & Appolon Kalamenios

Lunchtime concerts

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
