“She is one of those stars in the sky that makes the whole event glow,” said Camerata Salzburg’s concertmaster Gregory Ahss about the collaboration with Janine Jansen. Indeed, whether she performs as a chamber musician or a soloist in Eindhoven, this world-renowned violinist is one of our most cherished performers on stage. Camerata Salzburg, known for its spontaneity and sparkle akin to a chamber music ensemble, brings an intimate brilliance to Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, from its poignant opening to its fairy-tale finale, and gives the well-known Reformation Symphony a new sheen.

From the moment they first draw their bows across the strings together, Janine and Camerata Salzburg felt a magical connection. “With these musicians, it goes deeper each time, unlike any other musical partnerships I’ve had before,” Janine remarked. “How it works, I don’t know, but it works,” Ashh added. “We embark together on an extremely interesting journey.” For Janine, this journey leads to “freedom and joy,” and that joy shines through in this concert program featuring the most brilliant masterpieces of Bach and Mendelssohn.
